A wine that is noteworthy for its finesse and elegance. Sweet scents of French oak, smoke, licorice and jammy dark fruit linger on the clean, refreshing finish. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2018. Dry, generous, full-bodied. Significant structure. Great softness, long aromatic finish.Rich, complex, crushed berries and small red tree fruits, in the background there are mint, vanilla and liquorice spices.

Bricco dell'Uccellone is an old vine, single vineyard Barbera, a very famous wine; widely regarded as Italy’s top Barbera. It is well suited to long aging. The name literally means "big bird" as the vineyard was oft watched over by a very tall woman who would stand on her villa's balcony and curiously watch the vineyard workers when they were tending the vines. Thus came the name from Giacomo Bologna.
